Off Grid systems are not connected to the main power grid. The easiest way to think about this is a peaceful cabin in the woods with a beautiful view. There are no power lines to the cabin, and it relies solely on the power generated by the solar panels.
This system normally uses batteries to store electricity for nighttime usages like lights and fans. The larger the system, the more items you can power for your home or more electricity you can store in batteries for later use usually at night when the solar panels are not able to produce electricity.
You rely completely on the solar system to produce all your electricity. If you don’t create enough, you are in the dark, so be sure to assess your needs prior to installing your system. It is better to have some extra electricity in the batteries than not enough.
